Are you looking for an education course that will allow you to progress onto a Level 3 qualification, an apprenticeship or university and work towards National Governing Body Awards in the Outdoors?

Entry Requirements.

No prior knowledge, understanding or skills are necessary. There are no

specific requirements for this qualification.  We will however review your prior qualifications and/or experience to consider whether this shows that you have the potential to achieve this qualification.  A keen interest in sport, outdoor adventure and the outdoor environment is essential.

This BTEC qualification has been developed to meet employment opportunities in the Outdoor Education and Adventure industry.  It gives learners the opportunity to enter employment, join an apprenticeship or progress to higher education (University). Employment within outdoor education, sports leadership, coaching and outdoor adventure instructing is a common pathway for students. 

This programme will progress learners onto:

  • Higher level qualifications

  • University

  • Apprenticeship schemes

  • Employment

  • Canoe journey down the River Wear
