At Adventure Sunderland, we provide an engaging and safe learning environment to get learners active and learning outside the classroom. Now more than ever it is important to get your students outside, with many studies published siting the benefit to cognition and mental health when participating in activities in green and blue spaces. As well as this, outdoor adventure can also be a big component in students and learners developing essential life skills. When you book with us, we will create a bespoke program of activities and learning specific to the targets of your school or college and tailored to learners needs.
Day Visits and Programs
Looking for a progressive way for students to engage with learning and develop essential life skills?
This package is for you! You provide the details such as curriculum targets or enrichment and fun, we can do the rest. We will design bespoke term long packages or individual sessions for any year group centred around your request. Our outdoor learning sessions include a range of different activities to suit all age groups and learning objectives. With planned sessions capable of accommodating learners from key stage all the way through to A-level stage. These packages come with full day or half day options.
Residential Prep
It can sometimes be quite daunting for young people to be in a new environment faced with challenges they would not normally undertake. If you have students who would benefit from trying some of the activity's first hand and being exposed to similar experiences prior to your school's residential trip, this will not only give them the reassurance they need to take on the challenges faced on a residential, but it is also a great way to bond groups together. We have helped 1000s of people of all ages face there fear and new challenges in a safe environment so we really are the experts.
Beach Schools (Bushcraft)
Adventure Sunderland is situated in touching distance of Roker beach this gives us a unique opportunity to provide not only bushcraft sessions but also what we like to call our beach school sessions - as an alternative to typical forest schools. Our beach schools are a way of giving typically younger kids and learners the opportunity to learn and develop in a natural environment sparking motivation to explore, create and be curious in the natural world. In these sessions we aim to boost students knowledge about not only the local coastal environment but further a field and the amazing ecosystems that reside. Not only do these sessions aim to teach learners bushcraft fundamentals such as fire starting and safety, safe handling and knife basics as well as outdoor safety, but we can also incorporate aspects of your curriculum into the sessions such as local geography and beach processes.
