GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Access

There is access at all states of tide to the Marina.

 

Reception

The Marina's reception is located in the Marine Activities Centre building at the North end of the dock and is staffed 24 hrs a day. Should you have any enquiries or just want to check the weather forecast please call in and we shall endeavour to help in any way we can.

 

Security

The Marina is staffed 24 hrs a day all year round; with regular checks of the moorings and a modern CCTV system, we endeavour to take great care of your investment. The Marina maintains regular contact with local community policing and is a supporter of Northumbria Police's Project Kraken. Access gates use a key fob system; berth-holders are issued with a key fob, visitors should use the buzzer/intercom system.

FACILITIES

 

Showers/Toilets

Modern showers, washrooms, toilets and disabled facilities are available at all times in the Marine Activities Centre; there is no code/key required as they are accessed through reception.

 

Fuel/Bunkers

Diesel is available 24hrs/day from the fueling berth pontoon inside the Marina entrance. The pump is self-service (please ask if you need any assistance). Visitors will need to register at reception prior to use.

Petrol is available from a BP filling station nearby (200m away).

Water/Electric

Of the 132 pontoon berths; 100 are fully serviced and 32 are un-serviced. Electric points are metered and cards are available from reception. There is water available at the fueling berth for Fore & Aft mooring holders.

 

Half-Tide Shelf

For maintenance/anti-fouling there is a half-tide drying out shelf. Please contact reception to book its use at a cost of £12 per day.

 

Compound storage

We have limited storage space which is usually used by smaller craft for maintenance. Annual berth-holders are given 2 weeks free usage subject to availability, longer periods are charged at £4 per meter per week. Non-annual berth-holders tariff is £7 per meter per week.

 

Parking

The car park is available for berth-holders and our tenants' customers. Overnight parking is free to berth-holders. Non-berth-holders overnight parking is at a charge of £5 per night in advance or £8 in arrears. Parking is subject to availability.

 

Refuse bins/Waste Oil

Waste bins are located by both access gates and at the top of the compound for general waste, if you have items such as batteries please ask in reception. We have a facility for waste oil in the compound which is free for all berth-holders to use, again if you need assistance please ask in reception.

 

Launderette

Roker Launderette is only a 5 minute walk away; please ask in reception and we can give you directions.

 

Trolleys

Trolleys are available from inside the pontoon access gates. Please be considerate to others and return them after use. Trolleys are not to be taken off site without prior permission from the Marina reception.

 

Flare Disposal

Please do not put out of date flares/expired pyrotechnics in the waste bins; they are dangerous hazardous waste which could cause serious injury to someone if disposed of incorrectly. Please follow the following link for advice on the disposal of out of date/damaged flares.
