Residential Preperation.

We all know how daunting it can be for some young people to be in a new setting and faced with challenges they wouldn't normally be undertaking. It's an experience for any young person that could take them from their comfort zone straight a place where they are completely uncomfortable. If you have students who may benefit from trying some of the activities that your residential provider has on offer then we could help. From heights to the water we have helped 1000's of people of all ages overcome fears and worries in a safe environment.

Example Residential prep day.

Arrival - 9.15 - You will be greeted by your instructor(s) when you arrive at centre to say hello and check through your final paperwork with you. the instructors will introduce themselves to the young people and then give your group a quick tour of the centre and facilities.

Morning session - Kayaking - (9.30 approx) - The group will prepare for there first session with an introduction to the kit they will need and be given the time to fit it all prior to the session (we know that no matter how old you are its never easy squeezing into wetsuits for the first time).

Once the group are all ready you will be lead to the marina where the group will be given a safety brief we will also go into extra detail on the aspects that we are aware worry students the most, after this we will give all the students time to ask any questions they may have. Finally its splash time, the group will take to the water under the guidance of our instructor(s) and be given ample opportunities to undertake different challenges, overcome fears and tasked to fit with the developments and outcomes the students need - of course there will be lots of fun, games and laughs along the way.

once we have finished on the water we will quickly review the first sessions, including how the learners now feel about the activity and get you all back to our nice warm showers.

Lunch time - 12.00 - Although we recommend a packed lunch there are several places near by for you to have a quick bite to eat. you are always more than welcome to eat lunch in one of our onsite classrooms, however you are always more than welcome to take the group out to the seafront to enjoy the view over lunch.

Afternoon session - Climbing - 13.00 - you will be whooshed away by your instructor to our purpose built climbing wall where we will give all the participants the opportunity to conquer there fears or conquer our wall. We will never force someone up the wall if they are scared however we will always help them to achieve something whilst they are with us no matter how high or small. (when working with all people on all sessions we run a challenge by choice program so learners can work at pushing personal boundaries and targets, not just focus on making it to the top of the wall.)

During this session we will introduce the learners to all of the equipment they are likely to come across on a residential visit and how to it works to keep them safe, as well as teaching them how to correctly fit there own PPE and preform checks on each other to give them peace of mind.

We will finish this session with a review of the session and of the day as a whole.

Departure - 15.30 - We will
